A Little Light Writing, Poetry

The Way

the light
wants to see
what’s inside the dark
it creeps in curious, like a cat in a cabinet
pours like honey, liquid gold
molten joinery to kintsugi cracks
bright fingers exploring
caressing shadows
turning ash to fire

the dark
feels its way
towards the light,
veiled wings drawn to candle flame,
tucking mysteries in its hair
like secret-scented blooms,
speaking silent words,
warming at the touch
of cooling fire
