Trust fall
Light trickles in, honey on ice,
whiskey on the rocks…
Photography, from Greek: photos + graphe = “light writing”
photos + graphe + words + heart = a little light writing
This series is ongoing and combines words and photographic images – writing with both words and light. When I began this project in 2018, on Instagram, it was my first attempt at short-form lyrical writing. It has always been very much about the creative process, my interior emotional life, and the impulse to share it with others.

Light trickles in, honey on ice,
whiskey on the rocks…
I want to live on land with the same scars as me…
You don’t know what it’s like, Anna… Since you went away – since you went away, Anna – everything’s been molasses and static.
March turns the year about
and we start again.
The whole world hinges
on the spring.
………………silver knobs ripple out, searching…slow sparkling circles, water under streetlights… Radio can’t make up its mind.
“Tell me,” she said. “Tell me about my future…”
Our cabin has fallen into disrepair. The light that used to crawl, green, across the kitchen in the early morning and settle in my lap like a kitten, is now tumbling over dusty floorboards…
Step by step
crack by crack,
forward and back,
I avoid the now
where you aren’t.
But I can’t
get
the rhythm
right…
I want to stand on the edge of the world with you
as sunlight sparks the night–
The moon
escaped nights ago
is slowly dragging herself back
outside my window…
