My heart is a liminal place
…neither here
nor there…
Photography, from Greek: photos + graphe = “light writing”
photos + graphe + words + heart = a little light writing
This series is ongoing and combines words and photographic images – writing with both words and light. When I began this project in 2018, on Instagram, it was my first attempt at short-form lyrical writing. It has always been very much about the creative process, my interior emotional life, and the impulse to share it with others.

…neither here
nor there…
…but here, I am
still barefoot
on an
autumn night
the sand is cool
the moon climbs
the clouds…
My heart’s
had enough
I stand in the rain
and wonder
is this all we’re for—
the universe’s long game?
we are–
falling
stars…
Under energy of dark and silver sky:
a spell
a candle
a breath…
Look, a tree in the forest, marked with your initial and mine. I wonder how long those letters have been here? I wonder if they’re really for us? Could be. Imagine–
the light
wants to see
what’s inside the dark…
There was a time I was taken by faeries, from Litha to Lammas, as the year spun warm…
I have missed you in the evenings, when we used to walk together…
There are gifts
in this beautiful place
for anyone
who seeks to find them.
